Now taking entries!
Seen and Heard is now taking entries for short films, features, documentaries and animation. Seeking films featuring women in major production roles (directing, writing and producing), there are virtually no rules – well, other than identifying as female.
For those at the creative helm, the film industry is largely male – while many of our film students are female, the statistics are telling, with women frequently falling below the 10% mark as commercial directors in a given year.
A free film festival that battles the celluloid ceiling, celebrating the diverse and extraordinary work of women filmmakers and their not-to-be-underestimated diverse and extraordinary audiences. Seen and Heard in 2012, its third year, will showcase films of all genres challenging class, race, ability and disability, gender and sexuality.
Seen and Heard will be held at Sydney’s prestigious underground venue, The Red Rattler, from March 15th – 29th.
You will be contacted after your enquiry by email.
Submissions close January 15.
